Q3: Peculiar Mask

“And a word of advice, boy. Should you ever meet a girl from my kingdom, try not to kiss the back of her hand like that. It’s rude in our culture.”

(( FUN FACT: In Gem’s kingdom the customary greeting of a lady of any rank is a kiss not to the back of her hands, but on her palms. The reason behind this is that there are gemstone people like Gem who suffer from ‘sensitized gemstones,’ or over stimulation of the semi-precious stone, and since it is common for people to have gemstones on the back of their hands, the normal, or ‘westernized style,’ hand kiss is considered thoroughly inappropriate. And even for those who don’t feel anything, touching a persons gem is the same equivalent as touching their bottom and etcetera. So no touchy the sparkly bits. You’ve been warned.

Truth be told, when I drew this out I had a derp moment and thought, ‘Oh wait, he’d of kissed her the normal way, wouldn’t he?’, because actually, although it doesn’t show it here, Gem has a lovely amethyst on the back of either of her hands. So if he had kissed her there, well, he might have gotten slapped. But I thought that would be bad so yeah, no slapping. Lets pretend he kissed her fingers or something.

And yes, he has five fingers. I drew him with five fingers, forgot it was supposed to be four until I was halfway done, tried to fix it in photoshop and, well, it didn’t turn out so good. And dangit adventure time eyes with no iris or pupils why you so hard to draw looking in a certain direction? And yes, I realize I talk too much 8D ))
